Kelly Comeaux
President
Patrick “Kelly” Comeaux Jr. grew up watching technology transform the world, and in many ways, he grew right along with it. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Kelly followed his father, a Burroughs engineer, into the world of computer systems. By the time his father founded a technology company in Michigan in 1981, Kelly was already diving into the fast- evolving world of Novell, Microsoft, Cisco, and IBM engineering.
In 1998, he took over the company that would become Preferred Data Systems (PDS) and guided it through multiple generations of technology change, from on-prem servers to cloud computing, from basic networking to full-scale managed solutions and cybersecurity. Under his leadership, PDS has grown into an award-winning IT services provider recognized by Inc. 500/5000 and named one of Michigan’s “50 Companies to Watch.”
Kelly’s gift is turning complex “tech-speak” into plain English and helping businesses see technology not as a burden but as a strategic advantage. His expertise spans security implementations, digital forensics, and investigative support for law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, where he contributes to cybercrime and forensic analysis initiatives.
He earned his Business degree from Central Michigan University, studied abroad at Cambridge University, and attended Harvard University’s Executive Program. Beyond the technical world, Kelly has served on advisory boards for Cisco, Barracuda Networks, FBI Citizens Academy, and several Michigan colleges. He is also actively involved in Habitat for Humanity and human trafficking awareness causes.
Kelly lives in Brighton, Michigan with his wife and their two teenage sons, and enjoys spending his free time outdoors.
